Whitby Memorial Bridge

Whitby Memorial Bridge, at Whitby, North Yorkshire, England. The footbridge which links The West Pier with the West Breakwater, or pier extension, is dedicated to two local soldiers who lost their lives whilst serving in Afghanistan. The soldiers were: Corporal Damian Lawrence MiD of the 2nd Yorkshire Regiment, killed on 17.2.2008, aged 25 and Craftsman Andrew Found of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, killed on 16.6.2011, aged 27. Whitby Memorial Bridge was opened in July 2012.
