Common Cottongrass Seed-head A close-up view of a Common Cottongrass, (Eriophorum angustifolium), seed-head, showing the white bristle like hairs which are present after fertilisation. The Cottongrass plants were growing in the High Peak, beside the Snake Path near to Hayfield in Derbyshire, England. The plant is an upright perennial with a height of up to 75cm; it grows in very boggy ground with peaty acid soil. Camera: Nikon Coolpix AW100 5.0-25.0mm @ 11.70mm Image Ref: 36091-RDA
