RFA Argus at Falmouth Docks

RFA Argus (A135), berthed at Duchy Wharf, photographed in 2013 at Falmouth Docks in Cornwall, England. Argus is a ship of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary and is operated by the MoD. She is Italian-built and was formerly a container ship before being requisitioned for service in the Falklands War in 1982. The ship was purchased by the MoD in 1984 for use as an Aviation Training Ship, and then in 1991 she was fitted out as a fully functional hospital for service in the Gulf War.

Since 2009, providing hospital facilities as a Primary Casualty Receiving Ship is now her main role.
