Common Gorse in the Woodland by Rod Johnson

Common Gorse in the Woodland

A tall specimen of common gorse, (Ulex europaeus), is pictured on the edge of the woodland at Branston Water Park, in Branston, Staffordshire, England.

The gorse bush with its small yellow flowers and sharp thorns, was captured against backdrop of blurred tree branches. This species has a long flowering period, which begins in late autumn, it continues throughout the winter and then the strongest flowers appear in spring.
